Description
This course will focus on the fundamentals of the Arabic darabuka. We will learn the different sounds of the drum, correct hand positioning, and work on precision. We will break down basic Arabic rhythms and use them as exercises. We will discuss specific techniques, including the different finger and hand rolls, and various ways of producing correct sounds. These techniques will help to strengthen the hands and increase wrist flexibility. This course is for students with minimal experience with the Arabic darabuka.
