Manos Achalinotopoulos was born in Athens. He has traveled playing the clarinet in more than 30 countries all over the world, while participating in concerts and festivals. Since 1998, his activity has been different from that of pure folk clarinet music, researching, composing and collaborating with musicians from all over the world. Manos enjoys mixing the traditional style of playing the clarinet and its special idioms with jazz, Balkan style and influences of the western music. He has taught clarinet in the Department of Traditional Music in the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus, in the Department of Primary Education in National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Manos is also an associate professor at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki.
