Ido Segal was born in Israel and travelled to India in 2001, where fell in love with its fascinating and deep musical tradition. He lived in India for nine years studying Indian Classical Music. He started his musical journey in Varanasi with Dr. J. N. Goswami, and, after 5 years, was accepted as a student of Ustad Shujaat Khan, one of the foremost Sitar players in the world and a representative of the Imdadkhani Gharana technique, which imitates the human voice through string instruments. Since 2010 Ido has been performing and teaching Indian Classical Music. He has played in music festivals around the world and teaches regularly at the prestigious school for modal music, Labyrinth Musical Workshops.
