Indradeep Ghosh is the premier Hindustani classical violinist and violist. He initially started playing violin at the age of six under the guidance of Sri Anamitra Mustafi and then under Professor Smt. Sisirkana Dhar Chowdhury since 1991. Indradeep plays a rare, custom made five-string violin modeled after the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle, with with eight sympathetic strings allowing for a rich, resonant sound. He is the Artistic Director for Global Creative Arts Academy (GCAA), Houston, Texas and serves as a faculty instructor at School of Indian Percussion and Music, Austin, Texas. The Global Creative Arts Academy, City of Houston has recognised his contribution for promoting Indian Classical Art and Culture in Texas and honoured him by stating October 15, 2017 as Indradeep Ghosh Day.
