Pavlos Spyropoulos was born in Athens in 1984. He started his music studies playing the piano and the cello. In 2003, he studied the double bass with his teacher, Charalambos Chimarios. As a double bass player, he participates in projects in traditional and modal contemporary music. He is a recurring member of Magnanimus Trio, Caja Secreta, Modal4, Caldera Trio and Neda. He has performed and recorded with them throughout the last decade. Since 2010, he often joins the 'Labyrinth Ensemble' and 'Ross Daly Quintet', performing with various prominent musicians in these groups. He graduated from the Department of Music Studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2008 and holds degrees in music theory, piano and double bass from the Trikala Kassiola Conservatory.
