Description
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the repertoire of Thrace, a region that lies in Northeastern Greece, as well as in Bulgaria and Turkey. We will focus on the music of Greek Thrace, which is distinctly different from other musical styles of Greece.
One aim of this course is to incorporate instruments that aren’t typical to Thracian music, and thus, we welcome all instrumentalists. This course is for students who are comfortable on their instruments, and thus able to focus on repertoire and more subtle stylistic details.
